Rabbi Yossi Tiefernbrun
Rabbi Yossi was a product of the cultured streets of London, England, where his educational journey commenced and flourished until the age of 17. His insatiable thirst for wisdom drew him to the sacred halls of the Chabad Yeshiva of Migdal Haemak in Israel. Subsequently, he embarked on a pilgrimage to the bustling metropolis of New York, gracing the revered Oholei Torah Yeshiva in Brooklyn with his presence for a transformative year.
Driven by a profound sense of duty as a Shaliach (envoy) of the Rebbe, Rabbi Yossi devoted himself to nurturing the fledgling community in Leeds, England, infusing it with vitality and vigor.
In 2006, he ascended to the pinnacle of academic achievement, obtaining Rabbinic Ordination and a distinguished BA in Talmudic studies from the esteemed Rabbinical College of America in Los Angeles. It was a year of double celebration as he also entered into matrimony with Rochie Leider, a cherished daughter of San Diego, marking the beginning of a union forged in intellect and love.
Rochie Tiefernbrun
Rochie, luminous daughter of Rabbi Moishe and Sura Leider, pillars of the Chabad community in San Diego for over three decades, emerges as a beacon of their legacy. Her formative years unfolded within the nurturing embrace of Chabad Hebrew Academy in San Diego, where she laid the foundation of her education. For her high school endeavors, she ventured to the vibrant cityscape of Los Angeles, gracing the halls of Bais Chana High School with her presence.
Fuelled by a fervent spirit of exploration and learning, Rochie embarked on a transformative journey to the holy lands of Israel, immersing herself in a year-long odyssey of spiritual growth at a Seminary. With a heart brimming with compassion and a fervent dedication to service, she heeded the call to serve as a shlucha (emissary) in both Costa Rica and her beloved hometown of San Diego, embodying the values instilled in her by her esteemed parents.
